Description

The Undergraduate Internship Coordinator is an administrator with the primary task of supporting the goals and aims of the T.W. Ponessa Internship Program, with guidance from the Internship Director. This is a clinical position requiring a LPC, LMFT, LCSW, or psychology license. Internship program goals include:

1. Recruiting and retaining capable undergraduate internship candidates.
2. Providing quality training and supervision for interns.
3. Helping transition interns into employees.
4. Increasing revenue for the agency.

The Undergraduate Internship coordinator role is a full-time, 45-hour per week position in support of these goals. General requirements include regular communication with the Internship Director and other agency administrators. There must also be a commitment to professionalism, integrity, and ethical behavior. The internship coordinator will proactively contact interns to provide guidance, support, and supervision. There is an overall focus on high standards, effective communication, genuineness, openness, honesty, transparency, diversity, and curiosity. The internship coordinator must be interdependent and self-motivated to maximize intern impact. In addition, the Undergraduate Internship Coordinator will manage the in-house licensing program and the in-house NBCC-approved training program. Details are provided below.

Specific job requirements include:

a. Attend regularly scheduled and ad hoc meetings with the director and other administrators (individual meetings, internship meetings)
b. Recruit undergraduate interns to shadow TSS’ and provide employment avenues. This includes attending job fairs at colleges and establishing contacts with school personnel. Work with the marketing director and the BHRS director to insure a steady undergraduate intern census.
c. Attend and direct group supervision meetings
d. Assist in the planning and development of the internship program
e. Occasional travel to other sites for meetings and supervision

In-House Licensing Program

a. Learn Pennsylvania licensing requirements and be the in-house expert on LPC, MSW, and MFT licensure. Be aware of licensing requirement changes and communicate them to administrators and licensees
b. Manage current licensee accounts and insure there is appropriate communication about status, time projections, costs and repayment
c. Work with administrators to ensure that licensees who leave repay supervision costs
d. Supervise a limited number of licensees

In-House Training Program

a. Manage the existing NBCC certified training program with input from the Internship Director and the Administrative Assistant
b. Insure that 5 trainings per month are scheduled and completed at 4 locations. This involves communication with trainers, setting up training rooms, audio/visual devices, providing training materials, evaluations and certificates, and paying trainers in a timely manner (Currently 2 virtual trainings per month during the pandemic)
c. Recruit new trainers from diverse disciplines that meet NBCC standards. Develop cutting edge training topics that benefit BHRS, Outpatient, and SUD clinicians. Develop relationships with new and potential trainers while maintain professional relationships with current trainers
d. Schedule annual trainings for Child Abuse Reporting for licensees and non-licensed clinicians

Additional Duties:

a. Supervise up to 4 graduate level interns, as needed
b. Attend regular graduate internship group supervisions
c. Participate in agency audits and other projects assigned by the director

Pennsylvania State Criminal Background Check (Upon hire, before working with clients, and every year thereafter) 3. FBI Clearance
